City of Chicago Bag Tax begins February 1

January 31 marks the day that I must inventory all of our recycled paper shopping bags and report to The City how many we've got on our hands.

Gone are the days of free shopping bags...  You thought you had an endless supply of cat litter garbage bags?  No more!  Onto the future of maybe not using so many (renewable and non-renewable sourced) bags to carry items home with you.

While we really admire---and would prefer!---to go bag-free like many small shops will be doing on February 1, you can continue to collect our coveted recycled paper bags.

....with a $0.07 tax.

Greenery isn't just the Pantone Color of the Year around Chicago.  Let's save the earth!

Holiday hours, Gift Chicago, and Beyond

Have you been keeping an eye on our Instagram/Facebook?  We're doing some giveaways over there... It's worth checking out.  Just posted another one so: click, click.

It's Small Business Saturday *this* Saturday!

Awareness of #ShopSmall has grown over the last few years and now I look forward to seeing so many familiar faces on this day.  With each year that passes, it reminds us that we will be able to continue doing what we do because of you and your support by shopping local.  ♥

This Saturday also kicks off our seven-days-a-week holiday hours:

...Please deliver black coffee to 4425 N Milwaukee Ave.

*Next* Saturday and Sunday (December 3 & 4) is the inaugural Gift Chicago event, encouraging even more local shopping.  Thirty-six makers/shops/vendors across the city will be participating in their own unique way.  We've got a large collection of coupons to the other shops in the network that we'll be stuffing into these (free!) hand screen printed tote bags:

Happy soon-to-be Thanksgiving!

As Seen In: Giordano's Pizza (blog)

I grew up eating Giordano's... And when I moved away, Giordano's (Midway) would always be my last meal with my mom before flying out of town; Giordano's (Printer's Row) would be my "go to" restaurant for clients when I worked in advertising downtown; and Giordano's (Portage Park) is where Jeremy and I bring out-of-town'ers.

Giordano's will always hold a special place in my heart.  I am *so* incredibly honored that REP CHI was included in their Unique Shops in Chicago list!  Take a peek at the blog, it's filled with some must-read posts!!

Love and Pizza,

CM Punk Read More Shirt

Hi Friends,

Yep, that's our READ MORE shirt on Chicago's infamous CM Punk.

Want to buy it?  Click over here.

(please note: we hand screen print all of our shirts in small batches so while we try to have all sizes updated on our website, sometimes they sell out in our brick-and-mortar store but we make this one pretty often)

Thanks for reading!

A few new things in the shop...

Just a reminder that the brick-and-mortar location has a *ton* of things that are not available on the website.

While this site has a curated collection of items, it is too difficult to list each item----especially since so many things are limited availability---things often sell out before even making their way to the site...  BUT!  If you're interested in *anything* you see posted here, our instagram, or facebook (and we've still got it in the shop), we can certainly ship.  Just email or text us!  (google voice: 773-696-1992)

Pandora's Shepherd - Free Admission courtesy of Chicago Sculpture Exhibit

You'll find a new installation right between 4425 and 4427:

Pandora's Shepherd by Terrence Karpowicz

Pandora's Shepherd by Terrence Karpowicz

About the piece and its artist:
Terrence Karpowicz is an experienced and cautious craftsman and “Pandora’s Shepherd” showcases that. The improbable balance of the granite boulder atop the rounded steel base illustrates the incongruent union of organic and machine-tooled materials, as well as Karpowicz’s mastery of both mediums. Karpowicz, who has worked in the United Kingdom to preserve and protect historic buildings, achieves a look of ancient wonder in “Pandora’s Shepherd” befitting the work’s mythological namesake.

Come check it out this Saturday?
